The “Nightmare Academy” is an interesting book for readers of all ages. Nightmare Academy is written by the author Dean Lorey. Lorey is a Hollywood screenwriter and co-executive producer of the cult TV hit Arrested Development. Nightmare Academy his first series for young readers, by his personal enthusiasm for imagined worlds and video games. The first book in the trilogy, monster hunters, received the Southern California Bookseller’s Award for Best Children’s Novel of the Year. In this novel, Dean describes Charlie Benjamin. Charlie’s parents’ homeschooled him to avoid malice children. Charlie will awaken one night to a terrible class, 5 monsters in his room and will meet 3 amazing people, Rex, the wrangler, Tabitha. These 3 people will convince Charlie’s folks to allow him to attend Nightmare Academy.  The Academy trains people to use their unique techniques to fight the monsters when lights go out. After a forced show of strength to the Director, Charlie is once again the outcast. Not only does he have this gift, he is strong, and he is separated further by the knowledge. This book to anyone who might like to read fantasy like Harry Potter. This book is concise and easy to read, so it will engage the reader from start to end of the page. To sum it up, Nightmare Academy is an interesting book for readers of all ages.

“A Box of Bones”” is an amazing novel with beautiful story. Marina Cohen is the author of this novel. The author has a great name in the list of great novelists. This novel has great characters that talk to each other and listen to each other and most importantly respect each other. When they mess up, there are consequences they have to work through. It is sweet, charming and well written for the readers of all ages.

“Goodnight, Little Monster” is fantastic bedtime read for our little, figurative at times, monster children. Helen Ketteman is the author of this perfect book. Halloween time is coming soon, and even the smallest kids like to feel that they can participate in all the monster fun. This is one of the best books out there for young children. It basically is about getting a little monster ready for bed and going through the bedtime routine, however, it is coupled with amazing illustrations and funny little quirks specific to a monster life. This book certainly fits the bill. Goodnight, Little Monster depicts a child and mother monster as they go through their bedtime routine of bath, pajamas, stories and snacks. The charm in this one lies in moments such as when the mom reassures her little monster that no “scary children” are lurking under his bed, or makes him a snack of “worm juice and baked beetle bread.” The rhymes here are all extremely well written and flow nicely. The illustrations in this book are outstanding. Make no mistake, this little monster is very cute. This is a solid storytime selection because of the nice read-aloud flow, but will also work well for one on one sharing because of the richly detailed illustrations that will prompt lots of requests for re-reads as kids will not want to miss all the bugs, spiders, bowls of eyeballs, and bats. A great choice for any monster fan, with an ending message that assures the little monster that “With Mama nearby, you’ll be safe through the night.” Great stuff.
