Against the Day
by Thomas Pynchon PDF
0 Pages · 2015 · 3.81 MB · 0 Downloads · New!
“Against the Day” is a unique novel, in the sense of being utterly original. Thomas Pynchon is the author of this novel. Thomas is one of the best authors and also the writer of “The Crying of Lot 49”, “Gravity’s Rainbow”, “Vineland” and Mason & Dixon. In “Against the Day,” his sixth, his funniest and arguably his most accessible novel, Thomas Pynchon doles out plenty of vertigo, just as he has for more than 40 years. But this time his fevered reveries and brilliant streams of words, his fantastical plots and encrypted references, are bound together by a clear message that others can unscramble without mental meltdown. The beauty of this novel is that its import emerges only gradually, camouflaged by the sprawling absurdist jumble of themes that can only be described as Pynchonesque. At its best moments emotionally electrifying and intellectually brilliant, moving but never sentimental, sometimes terribly sad, sometimes side-splittingly funny, and to the very last page as unforeseeable as a roller coaster ride in the dark. In summary, Against the Day is one of the best novels and we highly recommend its reading. You can also Download The Dogfather series by Roxanne St. Claire Free.
